Professor Pineda is Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) and Director of Studies of the MA International Education and Globalisation at the Department of Education, University of Bath. He conducts comparative research on the influence of global culture on policies, organizational structures, and practices in secondary schools and universities, treating both private and public institutions. Pineda has a degree in Psychology, a Dr. Phil. in Education from the Humboldt University of Berlin and a Habilitation in Sociology from the University of Kassel, with prior experience at the German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW), and the Universidad de los Andes and the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia.
