Marie Pachuashvili received her PhD in Political Science from Central European University in Budapest, Hungary in 2009. Her dissertation focused on governmental policies toward private higher education across post-communist countries. Her research interests are in the areas of post-communist regime change and private higher education growth. She currently resides in Budapest where she does a consultancy work for Higher Education Support Program of the Open Society Institute.
