Karol Mark is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education as a Jardine scholar. He is concurrently Senior Research Fellow at the University of the Philippines - Centre for Integrative and Development Studies, and Research Affiliate at the Program for Research on Private Higher Education (PROPHE). Recently, he served as Chief of Party of YouthWorks Philippines, a 5-year youth empowerment and workforce development project implemented by the Philippine Business for Education (PBED) in partnership with the USAID. Prior to this, he served as Executive Director of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) of the Republic of the Philippines, Program Director of the K to 12 Transition Program, and Legislative Officer at the Senate of the Republic of the Philippines under former Senate President Edgardo J. Angara, then Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Education in the 15th Congress (2010-2013). He previously completed his Master of Education (Ed.M.) in International Education Policy at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education (HGSE) as a Fulbright Scholar.
