Quang Chau is a lecturer at the University of Education, Vietnam National University Hanoi, while completing his dissertation at the Department of Educational Policy and Leadership, State University of New York at Albany. Quang holds a BA in Economics and has since pursued graduate degrees in higher education; he is also completing his second MA in Public Policy at Vietnam Japan University, Vietnam National University Hanoi. His higher education research has been funded by several fellowships and grants both in the US and Vietnam.

Beginning his doctoral journey as a research assistant at PROPHE, Quang supported the collection of a global private higher education dataset. He is now a series co-editor of the Global Realities in Private Higher Education book series and a volume co-editor of Private Higher Education in Asia: Changing the Dynamics of Privateness and Publicness.

His private higher education research spans multiple levels of analysis — from transnational policy circulation to state, system-wide, and institutional dynamics — with particular interest in ownership and governance models across both for-profit and not-for-profit forms.
