Patrick Swanzy

Dr. Patrick Swanzy is a Lecturer at the Department of Teacher Education, Faculty of Educational Studies, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. Patrick earned his PhD in Education from the University of Adelaide, Australia specialising in quality assurance in higher education. In 2017, he won a Carnegie Corporation of New York’s scholarship for a postdoctoral research fellowship in higher education studies at the Institute for Post School Studies, University of the Western Cape in South Africa. Patrick is a Guest Lecturer to the Higher Education Program, Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University in USA and the Institute of Adult Learning, Singapore University of Social Sciences. He is also a visiting Scholar at the Ceara State University in Fortaleza, Brazil, and the Institute for Post School Studies, University of the Western Cape in South Africa. Patrick has served as a Consultant for the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Ghana Office for the Development of Quality Assurance policy and tools for the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) of Ghana. Patrick’s research interest includes quality assurance in private higher education, Private higher education policy studies, Internationalisation and partnerships in private higher education, privatisation in higher education, disability studies in higher education, refugees and migrants’ studies in higher education and school safety and surveillance. He has published in reputable journals in higher education. Patrick belongs to a global network of renowned scholars in higher education.
