Professor Marek Kwiek, director of the Center for Public Policy Studies, of Poznan University, Poland. His research interests include university governance, supranational and European educational policies, welfare state and public sector reforms, transformations of the academic profession, and academic entrepreneurialism. He has published 90 papers and 9 books. A higher education policy expert to the European Commission, USAID, OECD, the World Bank, UNESCO, OSCE, the Council of Europe, and UNDP. Apart from about 20 international policy projects, he has participated in about 20 international research projects, funded by the European Commission, European Science Foundation (ESF) and various international research foundations. He spent three years at North American universities and was a Fulbright "New Century Scholar 2007-2008”. An editorial board member in "Higher Education Quarterly" and  "European Educational Research Journal".
