Dante J. Salto, is an Assistant Professor of Higher Education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He holds a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. in Higher Education Policy and Leadership from the State University of New York at Albany (SUNY) where his dissertation focused on the interaction between higher education accreditation regulatory demands and college behavior. He also holds a Licenciatura in Education from the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba, Argentina.

He received the Presidential Distinguished Dissertation Award, State University of New York (SUNY) in recognition of the quality of his doctoral research. His research interest focuses on higher education policy in a comparative and international perspective, mainly on issues at the intersection of quality assurance, regulation, and privatization.

His research interest focuses on Latin American higher education policy from a comparative and international perspective, mainly on issues related to regulation, privatization, and quality assurance processes. He has published journal articles, contributed to book chapters, and specialized encyclopedia entries.
